AI Earnings Lift Stock Futures as Markets Await Key CPI Inflation Report

U.S. stock futures edged higher Tuesday as strong earnings from artificial intelligence-related companies revived investor enthusiasm for the sector. The market looked ahead to the release of consumer price index data, which could influence the Federal Reserve’s next policy move.

Super Micro Computer reported quarterly results that beat analyst expectations, citing robust demand for its AI server systems. CoreWeave, a cloud infrastructure provider, also posted revenue growth that exceeded forecasts. The two reports helped offset recent concerns about slowing AI spending.

The positive earnings news lifted sentiment across technology stocks. Nvidia and other major chipmakers saw their shares climb in premarket trading. Investors took the results as a signal that corporate demand for AI computing power remains strong.

Attention now turns to the CPI report scheduled for release later in the morning. Economists expect the data to show a modest uptick in inflation compared to the previous month. A hotter-than-expected reading could push Treasury yields higher and pressure equity valuations.

Market participants are also weighing the likelihood of an interest rate cut at the Fed’s next meeting. Futures markets currently price in a high probability of a quarter-point reduction. However, officials have stressed that their decisions will depend on incoming economic data.

Bond yields remained steady in early trading, with the 10-year Treasury note hovering near recent levels. The dollar showed little change against major currencies. Oil prices were mixed as traders monitored supply disruptions and global demand outlook.

The Nasdaq Composite has posted gains in four of the past five sessions, recovering from a sharp selloff earlier in the month. The broader S&P 500 has also climbed, though utilities and consumer staples have lagged as investors favor growth-oriented sectors.

Analysts noted that the AI trade remains a key driver of market performance, but caution persists over valuations. Some fund managers have trimmed positions in high-flying tech names, citing concentration risk in index funds.

The earnings calendar continues this week with reports from major retailers and software companies. Their results will offer further clues on consumer health and corporate IT budgets. Any downside surprises could quickly shift the market’s mood.

Investors are advised to stay alert to the CPI release and Fed commentary later in the day. Volatility may pick up as the session progresses, regardless of the inflation outcome.
