Ripple Breaks Into Wall Street’s Leveraged ETF Market, Challenging Big Banks

Ripple is making a notable push into traditional finance. The crypto firm is gaining traction in the leveraged ETF market. This area has long been controlled by major banks.

The company now provides financing for leveraged exchange-traded funds. These funds use borrowed money to amplify market exposure. Banks have historically dominated this lucrative business.

Ripple’s entry signals a shift in crypto’s role on Wall Street. The firm is not acting as an asset manager or ETF issuer. Instead, it supplies the behind-the-scenes financing that keeps these products running.

Leveraged ETFs require regular cash infusions to maintain their daily targets. That demand creates a steady, fee-based revenue stream. Ripple is positioning itself as a reliable counterparty for that need.

The move marks a departure from Ripple’s better-known payments business. Its XRP token and cross-border payment tools remain central. But the company is quietly expanding into institutional lending.

Big banks still hold most of the market. Yet Ripple’s crypto-native infrastructure may offer speed and cost advantages. Some issuers appear willing to test that proposition.

Regulatory uncertainty remains a challenge for crypto firms in traditional markets. Ripple’s legal battles with the U.S. SEC have not fully disappeared. Still, its latest step suggests growing acceptance among mainstream financial players.

The company’s success will depend on execution and trust. Leveraged ETF financing demands strict risk controls. Ripple must prove it can meet those standards consistently.

If it does, the firm could become a durable player in a niche once closed to crypto. That would mark another milestone in digital assets’ slow integration with Wall Street.
