Investors are dumping AI stocks as the ‘tech wreck’ deepens. Here’s where their money is heading now.

Investors are pulling money out of artificial intelligence stocks as a sharp selloff in the technology sector accelerates. The shift marks a notable change in market sentiment after months of strong gains.

Falling AI shares have pushed traders toward government bonds, which are seen as a safer place to hold money during market stress. Demand for fixed income has risen as equity volatility increases.

The move into bonds comes with complications. Persistent inflation could erode the value of bond returns and limit how much protection they offer.

Defensive stocks have also drawn fresh interest. Sectors such as utilities and consumer staples are attracting buyers looking for steadier performance.

The AI trade had driven major indexes higher for much of the year. Now, that momentum is reversing as investors reassess stretched valuations.

Some analysts say the rotation reflects broader worries about economic growth. Others point to profit-taking after a long rally in chipmakers and other AI-linked companies.

For now, the trend favors caution over speculation. Money is moving toward assets that offer stability rather than rapid gains.
