Brad Raffensperger Stands Firm in Defense of Threatened Georgia Election Workers Amid GOP Primary Battle

Brad Raffensperger, Georgia’s top election official, is defending election workers who have faced ongoing threats and harassment. The Republican secretary of state is currently seeking to qualify for a runoff in the GOP primary for governor.

Raffensperger has publicly backed two Georgia election workers who were targeted by former President Donald Trump and his allies. The workers faced intense scrutiny following the 2020 election, leading to death threats and personal attacks.

The election official criticized efforts to undermine trust in the state’s electoral process. He stated that the workers acted with integrity and followed the law during the certification of results.

Raffensperger’s defense comes as he faces a competitive primary race. His opponents have aligned themselves with Trump’s false claims about election fraud in Georgia.

The secretary of state has remained firm in his stance despite political pressure. He continues to emphasize the importance of accurate vote counts and fair elections.

Threats against election workers have persisted nationwide since the 2020 election. Local and state officials have struggled to address security concerns for those administering ballots.

Raffensperger’s position highlights the ongoing divide within the Republican party over election integrity. The primary race will test whether voters reward or punish his vocal defense of election workers.
