Cole Tomas Allen Pleads Not Guilty to Plotting Trump Assassination at White House Correspondents’ Dinner

Cole Tomas Allen pleaded not guilty Monday to four charges tied to an alleged plot to assassinate President Trump and other senior officials at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.

Prosecutors say Allen planned the attack during the high-profile event, which draws journalists, politicians, and dignitaries. The charges include attempted assassination and weapons-related offenses.

The defendant entered the plea in a federal court, where he appeared before a judge. No trial date has been set yet.

Court documents allege Allen brought a firearm to the dinner venue with the intent to kill the president. Law enforcement intervened before any shots were fired.

Authorities have not disclosed how they uncovered the plot. Security at the annual dinner has been elevated since the incident.

Allen remains in custody without bail. His legal team has not commented on the case details outside of the plea.

The case continues to attract national attention as it moves through the judicial process. The next hearing is expected within the coming weeks.
