‘DOGE’ Pushed to Declare 2.7 Million Living Social Security Beneficiaries ‘Dead’ to Cut Costs: Whistleblower

A third whistleblower has come forward alleging illegal activity by the Department of Government Efficiency under the Trump administration. The complaint centers on a controversial proposal to declare 2.7 million Social Security beneficiaries as deceased.

The whistleblower claims senior officials at the department pushed for a mass purge of the Social Security rolls. The proposal would have flagged millions of living recipients as dead without proper verification.

Sources familiar with the matter say the move was intended to cut costs by halting payments to the affected individuals. The whistleblower argues this violated federal law and procedural safeguards.

Social Security Administration protocols require thorough investigation before declaring a beneficiary deceased. The department’s alleged plan bypassed these standard checks, according to internal documents reviewed by the whistleblower.

The whistleblower has provided evidence to congressional oversight committees. Lawmakers from both parties have requested an immediate investigation into the department’s actions.

This is the third such complaint from current or former staffers regarding the Department of Government Efficiency. Previous allegations included unauthorized access to sensitive data and improper influence over benefit determinations.

The Social Security Administration has not issued a public statement on the latest allegations. The Department of Government Efficiency declined to comment, citing pending legal review.

Federal whistleblower laws protect employees who report illegal or wasteful activities. The complainants have sought legal protection amid concerns of retaliation.
