Republican groups are again backing Rep. Max Miller in Ohio’s tightening House race.
The support follows earlier calls from some Republicans for Miller to leave the contest.
Miller has faced accusations that he threw scalding water at his ex-wife and broke his daughter’s collarbone.
He rejected those calls to withdraw and has remained in the race.
The renewed backing signals that party leaders see the district as increasingly competitive.
Miller’s opponent, Brian Poindexter, has gained ground in recent polling.
Republicans now appear willing to support Miller despite the allegations against him.
