Trump Administration Releases Iran Deal Terms with Oil Export Waivers and 60-Day Nuclear Negotiation Window

The Trump administration has released the terms of a new agreement with Iran, including provisions for oil export waivers. The document outlines a framework for easing sanctions in exchange for limits on Iran’s nuclear activities.

Complicated issues like Iran’s nuclear program remain unresolved. Negotiators have set a 60-day window to finalize those details. The agreement marks a shift from previous policies of maximum pressure.

Oil export waivers allow Iran to sell crude oil to select countries. This aims to stabilize global energy markets while maintaining some restrictions. The administration stressed these waivers are temporary and conditional.

The deal includes commitments to curb uranium enrichment levels. Inspections will monitor compliance with the new limits. Iran has agreed to allow International Atomic Energy Agency access.

Naval security in the Strait of Hormuz is another key component. Both sides pledged to reduce military tensions in the strategic waterway. This could lower risks of confrontation between Iranian forces and US allies.

The administration called the preliminary agreement a first step. Future negotiations will address ballistic missiles and regional proxy groups. Critics argue the deal does not go far enough to prevent Iranian aggression.

Supporters say the oil waivers provide economic relief and diplomatic openings. The 60-day timeline creates urgency for resolving nuclear specifics. Observers will watch closely for implementation over the coming weeks.
