USS Abraham Lincoln Returns to San Diego After Nearly 11 Months at Sea Facing Food Shortages

The USS Abraham Lincoln is returning to San Diego after nearly 11 months at sea. The aircraft carrier’s crew faced food shortages during the long deployment.

Most of the deployment was spent in combat operations. Sailors worked without a single day off for much of that time.

The ship left its home port in late 2025. It supported missions in the Middle East and other regions.

Food supply problems emerged partway through the deployment. Crew members reported limited meals and low stocks.

Navy officials acknowledged the shortages but said resupply efforts were underway. Conditions improved in the final weeks.

The Abraham Lincoln is expected to arrive at Naval Air Station North Island. Families are preparing for the homecoming.

The deployment tested the carrier’s endurance and the crew’s resilience. Maintenance and leave will follow before the next assignment.
