French Tourist Dies in Death Valley After Vehicle Gets Stuck in Mud Amid 116-Degree Heat

A 68-year-old French tourist died in Death Valley National Park last week after his car became stuck in mud on a remote road, according to park officials.

The man and his companion were traveling in extreme heat, with temperatures reaching 116 degrees Fahrenheit at the time of the incident.

The pair’s vehicle got trapped in mud along an isolated route, leaving them stranded in the harsh desert conditions.

Officials did not immediately release the identity of the deceased, pending notification of family members.

The companion survived and was later transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment, though details on their condition remain limited.

The incident occurred amid a prolonged heat wave that has gripped the region, with park officials urging visitors to exercise caution during summer months.

Death Valley, known as one of the hottest places on Earth, presents unique dangers for unprepared travelers, especially on less-traveled roads.

Park authorities recommend carrying extra water, supplies, and a communication device when exploring remote areas.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death is ongoing, officials confirmed.
