Iran’s Missile Strike on Jordan Base Inflicted Minimal Damage, Pentagon Confirms

U.S. officials reported that Iran’s recent missile strikes on a military base in Jordan caused limited damage. The assessment came after a detailed review of the attack’s impact on infrastructure and personnel. Early evaluations indicated that most of the projectiles missed key targets or were intercepted by defensive systems.

The strike involved a combination of ballistic missiles and drones, according to defense sources. Officials confirmed that the base’s air defense units successfully engaged several incoming threats. However, a small number of projectiles did reach the facility, leading to localized structural damage.

Despite the limited physical damage, officials warned that the latest round of fighting may result in reports of traumatic brain injuries among American service members. These injuries can emerge days after exposure to blasts, even when no visible wounds are present. Medical teams at the base are conducting thorough evaluations of all personnel who were present during the attack.

The incident marks a significant escalation in regional tensions, with Iran responding to recent actions by U.S. forces. Pentagon spokespeople emphasized that the base remains fully operational. Repair crews have already begun addressing the minor damage to runways and support structures.

No fatalities were reported in the strike, which occurred during early morning hours. Several service members were treated for minor injuries and have since returned to duty. Officials declined to specify the exact number of personnel affected, citing operational security.

Intelligence assessments are ongoing to determine the full scope of Iran’s military capabilities demonstrated in the attack. Analysts are focusing on the accuracy of the munitions and the effectiveness of countermeasures. The findings will inform future force protection strategies across the region.

The U.S. continues to coordinate with Jordanian authorities to bolster security at shared facilities. Additional defensive assets have been deployed to the area as a precautionary measure. Military leaders stress that dialogue remains open to de-escalate tensions, though no formal talks have been scheduled.
