SkinCeuticals Finally Updated Its Iconic C E Ferulic Serum After 20 Years

SkinCeuticals has updated its C E Ferulic serum for the first time in two decades. The reformulated version of the iconic vitamin C antioxidant treatment is expected to launch in 2026.

The original serum, launched in 2005, became a cult favorite among dermatologists and skincare enthusiasts. Its blend of 15% pure vitamin C, vitamin E, and ferulic acid set a benchmark for daytime antioxidant protection.

The reformulation focuses on enhancing stability and efficacy. SkinCeuticals claims the new version improves the serum’s resistance to oxidation, a common issue with vitamin C formulas.

The brand has not publicly disclosed the full list of ingredient changes. Early reports suggest adjustments to the delivery system to ensure better absorption and longer shelf life without compromising the original’s proven benefits.

Clinical testing data from SkinCeuticals indicates the updated serum maintains comparable levels of antioxidant protection. The company states it continues to shield skin from environmental stressors like pollution and UV damage.

Price and packaging details remain under wraps. The current C E Ferulic serum retails for around $182 for a one-ounce bottle, and no significant cost increase has been announced.

The reformulation arrives amid growing competition in the vitamin C serum market. Brands like Drunk Elephant, Paula’s Choice, and La Roche-Posay have introduced stable alternatives, but SkinCeuticals remains a top dermatologist-recommended choice.

Consumer reactions are mixed, with some loyal users expressing hesitation about changes to a trusted formula. Others welcome improvements that could extend the product’s usability and effectiveness.

SkinCeuticals advises users to patch test the new serum upon release. The company emphasizes that the revised formula still targets fine lines, uneven skin tone, and loss of firmness.

The updated C E Ferulic serum will roll out globally in early 2026. Existing stock of the original formula remains available until then.
