Lionel Boyce, known for his role as aspiring pastry chef Marcus in the hit series “The Bear,” traveled to Copenhagen for culinary training on screen. The actor behind the character fell in love with the city in real life.
Boyce shared five favorite places in Copenhagen. The first is the traditional open-faced sandwich restaurant Selma, known for its high-quality smørrebrød made with local ingredients.
The second spot is the coffee shop Coffee Collective, which Boyce frequents for its expertly roasted beans and minimalist atmosphere. The third is the design museum Designmuseum Danmark, where he enjoys exploring Danish furniture and craft history.
For dining, Boyce recommends the restaurant Kadeau Copenhagen, which serves innovative New Nordic cuisine in a relaxed, candlelit setting. The final favorite is the park area of Assistens Cemetery.
The actor praised Copenhagen’s bicycle-friendly streets and emphasis on hygge. He noted that exploring by bike made the city feel smaller and more accessible. The locations reflect Boyce’s appreciation for quality food, design, and natural spaces.
