The IRS Chief Accused of Spying on Rivals at JPMorgan Using Secret Software

Frank Bisignano, the current head of the IRS and the Social Security Administration, was accused of spying on colleagues during his tenure at JPMorgan Chase.

According to a new report, Bisignano directed staff to use specialized software to snoop on the email accounts of rivals and surveil the work of employees while he worked at the bank.

Bisignano has denied the allegations, stating he never spied on co-workers.

The report details how Bisignano oversaw a team that monitored internal communications at JPMorgan.

Software was used to track the activity of employees and identify potential internal threats or leaks.

The surveillance extended to examining the personal email accounts of colleagues he viewed as competitors.

Bisignano’s leadership of the IRS and Social Security gives him access to sensitive taxpayer and beneficiary data.

Critics have raised concerns about privacy and oversight given his past conduct in the private sector.
