An investigation has been launched into a White House teleprompter operator over allegations they placed bets related to President Donald Trump’s speeches.
The bet involved wagers on the timing and tone of Trump’s public remarks.
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is probing the matter.
The betting platform Kalshi confirmed it flagged suspicious trades to regulators.
Those trades generated more than $100,000 in profits, according to reports.
Kalshi stated it is fully cooperating with the investigation.
No charges have been filed yet against the operator.
White House officials have declined to comment on the probe.
The case has raised questions about insider access and market fairness.
